| As wireless sensor networks become more popular, so does the need for effective security mechanisms for them. Because sensor networks may interact with sensitive data and/or operate in hostile unattended environments, it is imperative that these security concerns be addressed from the beginning of the system design. However, due to inherent resource and computing constraints, security in sensor networks poses different challenges than traditional network/computer security. There is currently enormous research potential in the field of wireless sensor network security. Some studies show how to provide best practice when deploying large WSN, mainly at the sensor level! |
| Additionally, lines of research active within the Distributed Systems Group include the investigation of service request languages (in the spirit of XML Service Request Language, XSRL), mobility of service consumers and providers, and, finally, the creation of experimental platforms to test Service-Oriented Systems. The Distributed Systems Group is Led by Prof. Marco Aiello. |
